Frequently asked questions
How do I get GPS coordinates for an address?
Type the address into GPSed and press Search. Each match shows its latitude and longitude, which you can copy, open on a map, or export as a TSV file.
Can I convert many addresses to coordinates at once?
Yes. Upload a CSV or TSV file with the columns Name and Address. GPSed looks up each row (about one per second, following OpenStreetMap's usage policy) and lets you export the results.
Is GPSed free?
Yes. It is free with no sign-up. Location data comes from OpenStreetMap and is available under the Open Database License.
Are my uploaded files stored?
No. Files are read in your browser. Only the search text for each row is sent to the OpenStreetMap Nominatim service to find coordinates.
